Overview	Document Handling
The IER 627 boarding gate reader offers a very reliable approach to jetway control using simultaneously ATB formatted documents as well as Radio Frequency smart cards for Electronic Ticketing applications. The IER 627 is very easy to handle with its two block design: one block for the mechanism and another for the output bin. An optional operator keyboard and display are integrated on a rotating device which allows 3 operations: rear, left or right side. A PC AT keyboard can also be connected to the control panel.	The IER 627 mechanism which includes two large 600-coupon internal bins, provides continuous uninterrupted operations. The user friendly front insertion and the ergonomic RF smart card reader option optimizes passenger throughput. The front-feed insertion and the upper exit are lockable. A 4 to 10 coupon built-in stacker option is also available for easy handling of passenger groups or families.
Contactless Smart Card	Reliable Design
The Radio Frequency card reader option (RF-ID) allows Electronic Ticketing applications with contactless smart cards (SC), in addition to ATB documents. An expanded AEA set of commands allows the use of smart cards in conjunction with existing ATB boarding gate applications. Two bicolor LED indicators show the reader status to passengers or to staff agents.	The IER 627 provides low operating costs due to its rugged design, for a low life cycle cost and a long-term reliability, even in high-use conditions. The IER 627 is a member, with the IER 801 and the IER 801BC, of a gate reader family of products which combine eTicketing and ATB access control for boarding operations.
