The TI 122 Reader is designed to improve the efficiency of boarding procedures and to enhance operational security. Reduced boarding time and better control result in faster turnarounds and reduced labor costs-for lower total costs. The TI 122 Reader is easily controlled by a local host, a PC, or a mainframe. Documents may be inserted in all four directions. Regardless of orientation, one of the four read heads will locate all magnetic data and decode it. Paper Handling
In a normal operation, an ATB document is inserted in the front of the reader. The GR 122 Reader first reads the magnetic tracks, then cuts the document and feeds the stubs to a slot on top of the machine for the passenger. The main coupon portion can be driven to one of two bottom exits, that is software selectable. An optional pedestal provides two secure bins for retained coupons. During this process, the reader automatically sends all relevant passenger data retrieved from the magnetic tracks on the document - to the host system. This allows for accuracy and security in the boarding process as well as faster financial reconciliation of data after boarding has been completed. The robust design of the GR 122 Reader allows for processing of inserted coupons that are crumpled or bent. Should a paper jam occur, it can be easily cleared in a matter of seconds. The front of the TI 122 Reader pivots open to expose the coupon path for easy removal of coupons.
