The ATB printer family models allow for optional internal modems to support sophisticated capabilities ranging from automatic calling for ticket retrieval to downline demand printing of tickets. Touch-tone recognition allows remote initiation of ticket retrieval and facilitates remote diagnostics and printer reconfigurations.
With the TI/Genicom ATB Series printers, users have a choice:
 | A single printer that can print both tickets and mini-itineraries (eliminating the need for a second printer) |
 | Or An ATB printer connected to a separate long form invoice and itinerary printer. |
In addition to the optional Internal Modem kit, the ATB printer family can accommodate an optional multifunction board with real-time clock. This board provides a 9-pin serial printer port and a parallel printer port, which can support print router applications such as full-size itinerary printing.

Car, hotel, and tour vouchers are made possible by using the Predefined Document Image Architecture (PDIA). PDIA allows images stored in the printer to be integrated with data from the host or a workstation.
Eleven travel industry icons, used to represent each segment in a traveler's itinerary, are included in the base system. Additionally, other images (such as company logos) may be added to a printer to further enhance travel documents.

The LCD display on the front of the ATB printers makes the control panel simple to use and understand. A large 2-line x 16-character panel prominently displays helpful information about the printer. All information is communicated in easy-to-read text messages, reducing time spent in troubleshooting and allowing for faster diagnosis and recovery, critical for STP applications.

The six-key control panel allows the operator to quickly perform printer functions and check the status of supplies. Through the control panel, the user can set interface parameters, bin configurations, print alignment, modem configurations, and several other operational items.

All models feature a simple paper path to ensure that horizontal Z-fold ATB coupons move through the printer smoothly. Users can select from three input bins, which hold 1000 Z-fold coupons each. This large capacity reduces the number of times an operator needs to load ATB or blank stock.
All three bins are secure within the printer. The bins are user-configurable with ATB stock, blank stock (for customized itineraries) specialty vouchers, and/or promotional stock. In addition, the standard unit provides two output bins for processed coupons.
The most commonly used is the 125-coupon, easy-access bin, which is positioned on the outside front face of the printer to allow quick and easy removal of printed coupons. A 50-coupon secure reject coupon bin is also standard. For unattended printing or batch-oriented applications, a 1000-coupon secure internal bin is optional.
